The Next Three Days (PG-13, Thriller) A-

John Brennan (Russell Crowe) and his wife Lara (Elizabeth Banks) are happily married and have a young boy. Their world gets turned upside down when she is put in jail for a crime she is innocent of. I thought some great part of the movie would go to proving how she was innocent but this is clearly established when the movie starts. Instead we are shown why and how John comes to the realization that he has to get his wife out of jail even if it means doing so by force. This film was as realistic as a movie can get regarding this type of story. The best scenes are when things don’t quite work out the way he expected them to.
